Château du Soleil — A Langley Farms Estate in McLean, Virginia

A 3.8-acre estate in Langley Farms, McLean, Virginia — designed as a single outdoor environment rather than a collection of features.

The property is centered around a custom infinity-edge pool with integrated fire and water elements, complemented by a secondary pool, an outdoor cinema pavilion, and layered terraces that extend the architecture into the landscape.

Covered outdoor living and dining spaces, a motor court designed for arrival and flow, and a fully integrated lighting plan create a setting for both daily use and large-scale entertaining.

Designed and built by Grow Landscapes in collaboration with The Building Group and James McDonald Associate Architects. Completed in 2024.

The New American Château — A Potomac, MD Estate

A luxury French-inspired estate in Potomac, Maryland — designed as a single outdoor environment that extends the architecture of the home into the landscape.

The property is organized around a custom pool composition with integrated fire bowls, laminar jets, and architectural fountains, framed by multi-level stone terraces. A dedicated pool house with outdoor cinema terrace and cascading water feature anchors the rear composition, while a formal motor court with stone detailing defines the arrival sequence.

Full architectural landscape lighting transforms the estate at dusk — every water feature, terrace, and tree illuminated as a second layer of the same composition.

Château de Rêve — A Great Falls, VA Estate

A multi-acre estate in Great Falls, Virginia — designed as a single continuous environment from the front gate to the far edge of the property.

The design is organized along a central axis that begins at a 14-foot entrance gate on Riverbend Road and carries through a formal crape myrtle allée, a motor court, the home itself, and out into a custom zero-edge pool composition terminating at a classical pavilion with cascading waterfall.

The pool integrates an in-pool fire feature with seating for twelve, four corner fire-and-water bowls, four laminar water jets, a zero-edge glass spa, a tanning ledge with illuminated bubblers, a custom imported-glass-tile floral mosaic, and a secondary splash pool with floating stepping stones. The surrounding sandblasted marble terrace is detailed with a diamond pattern that defines outdoor rooms within the larger composition.

Designed for how this family lives — large-scale entertaining for hundreds of guests, and quiet daily use the rest of the year.

The Langley Motorcourt — Langley Farms, McLean, VA (Coming Soon)

A refined arrival, designed with precision — for an estate in Langley Farms, McLean, Virginia.

The motorcourt is composed for clarity and balance. Linear paver bands, ornamental grass borders, corten steel planters with crape myrtle, and a symmetrical front elevation work together to create a sense of order from the moment you arrive. The layout introduces a modern Scandinavian influence to a classic estate setting — architecture and landscape moving together as one.

Every element is intentional, from the structured paver geometry to the understated planting palette. The result is an arrival experience that feels calm, composed, and quietly powerful.

The New American Resort — Potomac, MD (Coming Soon)

A private estate in Potomac, Maryland — designed as a full resort environment rather than a residential backyard.

The property is organized around a long rectangular pool with a vanishing edge, a water-wall feature with integrated fire elements, a sunken outdoor cinema pavilion with linear fire wall, and a meditation garden with sculptural architecture and torch lighting. A formal motor court with pattern paving anchors the arrival, while the rear composition unfolds across multiple gathering zones — each defined by grade change, planting, and water.

The scale and finish level reflect the ambition of the house itself. Every element is engineered to read as one unified resort, not a collection of features.

The project is organized around a dark-bottom infinity pool with integrated in-pool lounges, a linear fire trough terrace, an outdoor cinema wall with reflecting pool, and formal ornamental grass gardens that extend the architecture into the landscape.

A study in clarity, proportion, and modern living — designed for a Great Falls, Virginia estate.

The outdoor environment extends the architecture with precision. Clean lines, layered stone elevations, and an elevated pool with glass railings create a seamless connection between the house and the land it sits on. A sunken glass-walled lounge, covered dining pavilion, and integrated spa anchor the composition without crowding it.

The layout emphasizes openness and flow while maintaining structure across every level — refined, expansive, and quietly powerful.

The Mclean Modern Estate

The project is organized around a clean-lined rectangular pool with integrated sunken fire pit lounge, a minimalist covered pavilion with entertainment wall, and refined planting that extends the architecture into the landscape.

Willowsford Modern Backyard

Custom backyard design and construction including a 50' length pebble finish pool with integrated spa and automatic cover.  The aluminum pergola features integrated LED lighting, powered louvers that can keep rain out or let sunshine in was designed and fabricated to the specifications of this project. The entire outdoor living area is clad in marble which stays cool to the touch and looks gorgeous in any weather.
